A CALLING TO INVEST IN THE NEXT GENERATION
The Church at Godley Station is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered leader who feels called to invest in the lives of middle- and high-school students. This is more than a programming position—it is an opportunity to help students know Jesus, grow in their faith, discover their God-given purpose, and develop a faith that carries into adulthood. The Pastor/Director of Student Ministries will create a safe, engaging, prayer-filled environment where students are known, challenged, encouraged, and equipped to follow Christ. This leader will also partner intentionally with parents, recognizing the family as a vital part of a student’s spiritual formation.
MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES — AT A GLANCE
• Lead Students Toward Jesus: Provide vision and leadership for a Christ-centered student ministry with a clear discipleship pathway that includes Biblical teaching, worship, service, leadership development, prayer, and opportunities for students to respond to and grow in their faith.
• Build Meaningful Relationships: Develop healthy, appropriate relationships with students and families, creating a ministry culture where students feel welcomed, valued, supported, and spiritually challenged.
• Partner With Parents: Equip and encourage parents with Biblical resources, communication, training, and opportunities to be actively involved in the spiritual development of their students.
• Create Engaging Weekly Ministry: Plan and lead Sunday morning and Wednesday evening student ministry experiences with sound Biblical teaching appropriate for both middle-school and high-school students.
• Develop Leaders & Volunteers: Recruit, train, equip, schedule, supervise, and encourage a strong team of adult volunteers, interns, and student leaders who share the vision for reaching and discipling students.
• Plan Life-Changing Experiences: Lead camps, retreats, conferences, mission projects, special events, and other opportunities that help students build community, serve others, and take meaningful next steps in their faith.
• Champion Safety & Care: Maintain a ministry environment that prioritizes student safety, follows the Church’s Child Protection and Abuse Prevention policies, and ensures volunteers are properly screened and trained.
• Communicate & Collaborate: Maintain consistent communication with students, parents, volunteers, staff, and the congregation while working closely with church leadership to advance the mission, vision, values, and ministry philosophy of The Church at Godley Station.
• Steward the Ministry Well: Develop the annual ministry calendar, goals, budget, curriculum, resources, records, and ministry reports while evaluating participation, retention, spiritual health, and overall ministry effectiveness.
